RESPONSE TEAM
"How can I help?"
In this time of crisis, many are asking, "How can I help?" Here at Mission Grove we are forming a Response Team to accomplish the following two objectives:
1) Meet the needs of our church family
2) Meet the needs of our community
Everybody deserves somebody checking in on them. We desire to have a church family where everyone is known, connected, and cared for. Upon joining the Response Team, you'll be given the names of several people in our community whom you will reach out to on a regular basis. As needs arise, you will have the opportunity to meet those needs or can pass along the information so that we can figure out a way to meet those needs.
Also, as we partner with local organizations to discover the needs of our community, you will be contacted directly on how you can help us continue to be #FORthecommunity.
To join our Response Team or if you have questions about this team, please click the button, complete and submit the online form.
Choose to pray often, not be fearful, walk in wisdom, show love and share the Gospel.
Our nation will face many obstacles in the coming weeks in response to the spreading pandemic of the coronavirus. However, we must keep in mind that this situation also provides many opportunities for the church to bring light and hope to our world. Here are five practical steps you can take in light of this crisis.
While the apostle Paul faced very different challenges than we are currently facing (he wrote to the persecuted church while he was in prison), he managed to find peace through prayer in difficult circumstances. His example demonstrated below. May we do the same.
Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let you requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Colossians 1:9-12
We have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
We know that the coming weeks will be filled with challenges for our country and beyond, so let us decide together to pray often, do not be afraid, walk in wisdom, look to show love, and look to share the Gospel with our words and actions in our community.
One way we can meet some needs.
In preparation for upcoming food and care item needs, Mission Grove Church wishes to create Go Bags: grocery-sized care packages that contain non-perishable food items and some paper goods for families or individuals in need.
We are asking Responders with resources, availability and desire, to create one or two Go Bags so that when the need arises, we will be prepared.
As a Responder, you are the first to hear of important needs in our community. A Go Bag is one way we can meet some needs. But there will be other needs. Please communicate needs as you receive them, even if you happen to meet them yourself. Together, as a church family, we are showing and sharing the love of Jesus.
