Message to Parents

Unconditional Love…as Christian Parents we know where that comes from and what it looks like…that our Father is our example, but as a child, that love is hard to see and understand sometimes.  That’s why this month our Grove Kids will be learning about their Faith, believing in something even though you can’t see it!

I’m a Believer

Faith Is . . . Hebrews 11:1—12:3

Faith is being sure of what we hope for. It is being sure of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1, NIrV

You can know Jesus even though you’ve never seen Him.

Faith—Trusting in what you can’t see because of what you can see

I can trust God no matter what.

We start off the month in Hebrews 11:1–12:3 where the author recounts the ways heroes from the past looked forward in faith towards Jesus. They trusted God even though they didn’t have all the answers or know exactly how God was leading.

Bottom Line: You can know Jesus even though you’ve never seen Him. As the Old Testament heroes looked forward in faith, we look backwards in faith. We can believe in Jesus because of what we see around us and learn from the experience of God’s faithfulness throughout history. We hope that kids will start to understand the faith they can have in Jesus.

For Our Parents

Unconditional Love.  We are the closest thing, as parents, to showing our kids how much they are loved by God and what that looks like!  There have been so many times that I have felt defeated as a parent (all of this being conjured up in my own mind and self-inflicted, not God given!) but think about, if we stop and without our example of unconditional love, where will they find it?  Who’s love will they seek when they’re older…let’s make sure our kids at least know that we are here, even if they don’t want to listen!  Don’t give up parents, we’re all in this together!  I know it’s past Mother’s Day, but this is a great reminder to keep showing your love and His love to your kids…
