Message to Parents
As we gear up for school there are a lot of unknowns with this ongoing pandemic…should we send our kids back to school, continue online or keep them with us and homeschool. There are many times as parents that we feel confused and overwhelmed with the ‘right’ decisions for our kids. We’re here to help and assure you that this battle is not yours, it’s His! Check out this article for a little spiritual encouragement as we get our kids and ourselves get ready for school.

Now with your kids
Grab your Bible and sit down in your kid’s favorite spot in your house. Here’s your theme…Creativity is imagining what you could do because you were made in God’s image.
Read Genesis 1:27
Parents, go ahead and strike a silly pose with your kids and snap a selfie.
Now take a look at that picture. Explain to them that it’s an image of you. A photo. It’s not really you. That image can’t walk and talk and breathe (though it does look exactly like you!). And it does show us quite a bit about what you are like, including a little window into your personality.
In the same way a selfie reflects an image of the person in the picture, you are made in the image of God!
You aren’t God of course, but of all the wonderful things God made, people—you and me—are most like Him. We can think and feel and laugh and play and love others. We can read and draw and create.
Grab a piece of paper and whatever art supplies you have on hand. Create anything you’d like; the sky is the limit. Somewhere on the page write this week’s bottom line: God created you, so you can be creative.

Place in This World
We Are God’s Creation
Ephesians 2:10
Lord, you are great. You are really worthy of praise.
No one can completely understand how great you are.
Psalm 145:3, NIrV
God created you, so you can be creative.
I can trust God no matter what.
I can trust God no matter what.
Next, in Ephesians 2:10, we discover how we reflect God’s creativity. Paul reminds us, We are God’s creation. He created us to belong to Christ Jesus. Now we can do good works. Long ago God prepared these works for us to do, (NIrV). Because we are created in God’s image, we have the ability to create. Whether it’s the arts or the sciences or simple problem solving throughout the day, God created us with a purpose to use our gifts and talents to point others to Him.
Bottom Line: God created you, so you can be creative. We often think about creativity only in terms of the creative arts. But creativity is so much more than that. When we use our God-given abilities to solve the problems we face, we are tapping into what it means to reflect the image of God. We pray that kids will see that no matter how they’re gifted, that God can use their creativity for good.
