LIFE APPLICATION | Commitment—Making a plan and putting it into practice
MEMORY VERSE | Training the body has some value. But being godly has value in every way. It promises help for the life you are now living and the life to come.

Whatcha Say
Peter Says That Jesus Is the Messiah
Matthew 16:13-20
BASIC TRUTH | I need to make the wise choice.
For week four, we head to Matthew 16:13-20. Jesus asked his disciples about who people thought He is. Then Jesus turned the question on them: after everything they’d seen Jesus do and heard Jesus say, who did they think He was? This gave Peter the perfect moment to declare what he believed about Jesus—that He truly is the Son of God.
Bottom Line: Practice talking about God. We can know God better by talking about Him with others. As kids process their growing faith, they will have questions and doubts. We want kids to practice the faith skill, TALK, and learn how to talk through their questions about God with others who believe in Jesus.

Now for your Kids...
Grab your Bible, ingredients to make the best sundae/shake ever and get ready to experience Jesus with your kids! Here’s your theme…Commitment means making a plan and putting it into practice!
Ask your kids, “What was the last awesome thing that happened to you? Maybe you got something cool for your birthday! Maybe your grandmother was sick but now she’s better. Maybe you had pizza in the cafeteria for lunch! OR MAYBE YOU HAD THIS”…(insert your version of the best ice cream sundae/shake ever!!!)
“When something awesome happens, we want to talk about it! It’s fun to share exciting news with our friends and family. Guess what? We have the greatest, most amazing, most life changing news ever! Jesus came to make a way for us to have a relationship with God, forever! When we put our trust in Him, He promises that relationship starts right now, here on earth. That’s literally the best news ever. Let’s check out the verse!”
Read 1 Timothy 4:10-11 together with your kids.
Explain to them that part of our job as Jesus followers is to share this good news, to talk about Jesus. “Now that might seem a little awkward. I mean, it’s one thing to tell your friend that there’s pizza in the cafeteria. Talking about Jesus feels like a whole other thing.”
Ask them, “Did you know that you can ask God to help you? It’s true. As we pray today, ask God to help you see opportunities to bring Jesus into the conversation. Ask Him to show you the people He wants you to talk to about Him and the courage to speak up.”
