LIFE APPLICATION | Commitment—Making a plan and putting it into practice
MEMORY VERSE | Training the body has some value. But being godly has value in every way. It promises help for the life you are now living and the life to come.

BIBLE STORY
Gotta Live
Widow’s Mite
Mark 12:41-44
BASIC TRUTH | I can trust God no matter what.
We finish the month in Mark 12:41-44. Jesus is with His disciples and notices how wealthy people are giving lots of money, but then came a poor widow. She gave just two small coins. While this seemed like such a small gift, Jesus says this woman gave more than the rich people because she gave everything she had.
Bottom Line: Practice living for God. We know that many kids love to sing and worship God. But worship isn’t just something we do when we sing at church; worship is how we honor God with our whole lives— through how we love others and serve them, how we give of our time and talents, how we obey and praise God, even how we rest. We want kids to practice the faith skill, LIVE, and discover that worship isn’t just singing loud. It’s living loud.
Message to Parents
Parents, did you know that studies show that our thoughts, on average, can be up to 70% negative. To top it off, we tend to have the same thoughts, over and over again, day after day, week after week. What’s even worse is that our kids have those same stats!!! What if we could change that? Great article and examples on daily affirmations for our kids!
How To Change Your Child’s Mindset In Just a Few Minutes A Day!
Now for your Kids...
Grab your Bible, your cell phone with a timer and get ready to experience Jesus with your kids! Here’s your theme…Commitment means making a plan and putting it into practice!
Let them know there’s a challenge with today’s Bible verse! Set a timer for one minute and ask them to complete the following tasks, resetting the timer for one minute for each one and counting the amount of reps for each:
*Jumping jacks. *Sit ups. *Squats. *Push-ups.
Ask them, “Are you tired? What might happen if you kept doing that routine, day after day, week after week, increasing the time by one minute each week? Would you get stronger? Absolutely!”
Read 1 Timothy 4:8 while they recover.
Tell them, “Today’s verse reminds us that training the body has value but being godly is even better! We’ve been learning all month long that we can grow in our faith (and become godlier, more like Jesus) when we practice hearing from God, praying to God, talking about God and living for God. And when we live for God, it will make a difference right now and forever in heaven.”
