Nothing Can Separate Us from God

Romans 8:38-39

BASIC TRUTH | I can trust God no matter what.

We finish the month with something Paul wrote in Romans 8:38-39. The church in Rome needed some encouragement, and Paul delivered. He wrote, Nothing at all can ever separate us from God’s love. That’s because of what Christ Jesus our Lord has done (NIrV). God’s love gives us the encouragement and confidence to face anything.

Bottom Line: God loves you no matter what. We all face times when we feel far away from God’s love. But Paul’s words remind us that nothing can ever stop God’s love for us. This truth can help us live with confidence. No matter what life looks like for us, God’s love can give us the encouragement we need to keep going. We can trust God no matter what.

Message to Parents

How many times have you heard this…”Mom(Dad) can I have this?  Why not?  But please…please…please!!!”  This is almost always followed by the overly dramatic tantrum.  I must admit, on occasion, in certain situations, I have caved to this relentless bantering.  Unfortunately, this behavior we fall into isn’t always the best for our kids.  Here’s some quick and easy responses that let our kids know they won’t get everything they ask for and give us the sanity to get through the day!

5 Phrases That Will Instantly Make Your Kids Stop Begging

Now for your Kids...

Grab your Bible, two colors of Play-Doh and get ready to experience Jesus with your kids!  Here’s your theme…Confidence means learning to see yourself the way God sees you!

Get your hands on two different colors of Play-Doh. Pull a small piece from each of the different colors ask your kids to roll them up together in a ball.

Now ask them to try and separate the colors. Say to them, “Can you do it? No way! Anyone who’s ever played with two different colors of Play-Doh knows that you don’t mix them together because you can never separate them again.”

Read Romans 8:38-39 with your kids.

Explain, “God’s love for you is like that Play-Doh. God loves you, always. And because of Jesus, there is nothing that can separate you from His love! God’s love isn’t conditional. That means, His love for you doesn’t change based on anything you do or don’t do. You can depend on God to love you, no matter what.”

Have them hold their ball of Play-Doh as you pray today. Thank God for His constant love for you, a love that never gives us, never changes, never goes away.
