Individuality—Discovering who you’re meant to be so you can make a difference

This Month’s Memory Verse:

How you made me is amazing and wonderful. I praise you for that. What you have done is wonderful. I know that very well.

Psalm 139:14, NIrV

Right Now

Timothy –  1 Timothy 4:12 (supporting: Acts 14–17; 1 Timothy 4:14, 1 Corinthians 4:17; 16:10)

Next, we head to something Paul wrote to Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:12. Timothy was a gifted young leader who Paul mentored. Paul wrote to Timothy and reminded him to stay faithful to the task God gave him. Even though Timothy was young, God could use him to lead the church and point people to Jesus.

I can trust God no matter what.

Bottom Line

You can make a difference right now.

As we discover more about our individuality, we realize that God created us for a purpose. God can use our strengths as we help others and show them what it means to follow Jesus. Through Timothy’s story, we hope that kids start to understand the purpose God has for them.

Message to Parents

70% of our Christian kids will fall away from their faith after high school!!!  That’s crazy, these are our kids!!!  So how do we stop this trend?  Get them into Grove Kids every Sunday, ask us for additional resources that reenforce His message at home, and read this article…

How To Raise Kids That Don’t Walk Away From Church.

Now for your Kids...

Grab your Bible, a piece of paper, pen/pencil/crayon and get ready to experience Jesus with your kids!  Here’s your theme…Individuality is discovering who you’re meant to be so you can make a difference.

Read Hebrews 13:16 with your kids.

Now share with them, “God made you wonderfully on purpose to help others know about and follow Jesus. He doesn’t expect you to do this perfectly but He does want you to try. When you choose to “do good” to others, you can make a difference right where you are, right now.

Grab a piece of paper. Fold it in half, then in half again, then in half again and then in half one more time. Open the page to reveal sixteen boxes. Inside each box, write one way you could “do good” to make a difference this week. As you complete each one, draw a big check mark across that box. Can you complete your “do good” list by the end of the week?
