Go the Distance

Resilience is a response to the character of God.

This Month’s Memory Verse:

“But those who trust in the LORD will receive new strength. They will fly as high as eagles. They will run and not get tired. They will walk and not grow weak.” Isaiah 40:31, NIrV

This Month’s Life App:

Resilience—Getting back up when something gets you down

Go the Distance

Peter and John Are Taken to the Sanhedrin | Acts 3:1–4:21

Next, we head to Acts 3:1-4:21 with Peter and John and their unflinching moment of resilience. Peter and John were resilient even when arrested for sharing the message of Jesus. They wouldn’t let it get them down. They stood up to the religious leaders and never gave up on the mission from Jesus. They were willing to do whatever it took to get it done.

I can trust God no matter what.

Bottom Line

Keep going even when it gets tough.

Kids will face moments when they either want to give up or don’t know how to keep going. In those times, it’s essential to help them remember that God is always with them. God can give them the strength to have resilience and finish whatever task is before them. We pray they learn that they can trust God no matter what and keep going.

Message to Parents

Parents! It’s a “bugs life” out there, but we at Mission Grove Church think you are the bee’s knees. Have you ever wondered what that idiom means? Bee’s Knees?  Can you imagine it with me, bees with little kneecaps?  Ha!  One thought behind the metaphorical way of telling someone they are excellent; is that the hard-working bee collects pollen in the knee area to bring it back to its queen. I would say it’s pretty fitting to tell you, parents, “YOU’RE THE BEES KNEES”. We are proud of you and the work you do for your children. We know you bring them to Grove Kids to learn more about Jesus and we’ve got your back on that!

In case you need, here are a some last-minute ideas for a Mother’s Day celebration:

Mother’s Day Activities

Now for your Kids...

Grove Kids, last year for Father’s Day we shared some funny “Dad Jokes”. Wanna hear a few “Mommy Jokes”?  Okay!
  • Why is a computer so smart? (Because it listens to its motherboard)
  • Why did the cookie cry? (Because his mother was a wafer so long!)
  • Why did the baby strawberry cry? (Because his mom was in a jam!)
  • What did the mother broom say to the baby broom?  (“It’s time to go to sweep!”)
Also, ask your parents to print out these fun ways to read about Miracles of the Bible. Remember, miracles didn’t just happen during Moses’ time or Jesus’ time. They happen still today. Be on the lookout for one today. Be sure to thank God for the mighty work He does all the time.
