What Is Love?
We Love Because God Loved Us | 1 John 4:9-13
We start our month in 1 John 4:9-13. John tells us exactly what real love looks like: God loved us enough to send Jesus to offer His life and make us complete. John goes on to say: Dear friends, since God loved us this much, we should also love one another, (NIrV). Love is at the heart of God’s plan for the world. We are close to the heart of Jesus when we show love to others.
Love others because God loves you.
Bottom Line
Love others because God loves you.
God gave us the ultimate example of love when God sent Jesus to live a perfect life and die on the cross to make it possible for us to have a forever relationship with God. Kids will discover how God’s love for us can motivate us to show love to others.
Message to Parents
Christ said we are known by our fruit, so what are the good fruits to aspire to? The Apostle Paul mentions the “fruits of the Spirit” that Christians should work to cultivate in their heart and mind. The Greek word καρπός that we translate “fruit” usually means fruit in the sense of edible fruits and vegetables, but it can also be translated as offspring, deed, action, result, or profit. Now for your Kids...
Parents! Happy Summer. It’s officially here with school out! Now what do you do? Well, first of all, you can join us after church this Sunday, June 5th at Desert Ridge Splash Pad with your kiddos. Bring their suits and towels and hungry bellies. We will have Pizza and Drinks for the whole family. We want this time to be a little fun in the sun as we enjoy getting to know one another better.
