Palm Sunday/Jesus Washes His Disciples’ Feet | John 12:9-16; 13:1-17 (Matthew 21:1-11)
We start off the month with Palm Sunday in John 12:916 and the Last Supper in John 13:1-17. For Jesus’ triumphal entry, He didn’t ride a mighty warhorse, but rather he chose a humble donkey. The crowds in Jerusalem were ready to make Jesus king. But instead of shopping for a crown, Jesus hosted a meal for His disciples. When they arrived, they might have expected a servant to wash their dirty feet, but instead Jesus did the unexpected. He knelt down, and one by one, washed His disciples’ feet. Jesus set an example of humility for all of us to follow.
